Emotional Health and Well being
At Petts Hill Emotional Health and Well-Being (EHWB) is taught through the SEAL programme, Social and emotional aspects of learning.
This programme has been incorporated into our PSHE scheme of work.
It particularly focusses on five social and emotional aspects of learning: self-awareness, managing feelings, motivation, empathy and social skills.
The SEAL materials help children develop skills such as understanding another’s point of view, working in a group, sticking at things when they get difficult, resolving conflict and managing worries. SEAL is supported by our expectations for behaviour and behaviour code.
Children at Petts Hill are also supported in developing good emotional health through the work of Place2be.
